We are delighted to announce that the three month Stewards Walk refurbishment is now completed and included the following specification of works.

Entrance Tower

The existing entrance tower is to be demolished and replaced with a new tower. This will be clad in curtain walling system with a pearlescent colour changing film applied to the glazing. The top section will be clad in metal panels providing a background for centre branding signage. The clock will also be replaced. The tower will be lit internally and also have downlighters lighting the entrance to Stewards Walk.

Flooring

The existing flooring will be replaced with a conglomerate tile with similar patterning, toning and module to the tiling used throughout the rest of the centre. The entrance matting to the entrance from South Street will be replaced and increased in depth.

Pilasters

The base of the existing pilasters will be overclad with stainless steel.

Ceilings

The existing open cell ceiling panels are to be replaced with new panels. The edges to the coffers are to be replaced with new mouldings housing more efficient fluorescent lighting.

Display Window

The projecting display windows to the entrance of Stewards Walk (north side) will be replaced by a continuous glazed screen with graphics applied to the glass.

Doors

The existing timber doors will be overclad with stainless steel panels. It is also the intention to remove the glazed doors that currently divide the mall subject to Building Control / Fire Officer approval.

Decoration

The rooflight support steelwork, ceilings, walls, pilasters and columns will all be redecorated.

Lighting

The existing downlights within and between the coffers will be replaced with LED downlights. The fluorescent battens to the perimeter of the coffers will be replaced with more efficient fittings. The pendants within the glazed rooflights will be replaced.

Fire Alarm

The whole system will be upgraded to modern standards.

The Liberty is Growing!

Owners of The Liberty Shopping Centre, Cosgrave Property Group, has announced it is about to transform an old part of the town into a brand new part of the centre following the acquisition of 1–10 and 44 - 52 Swan Walk.

To enhance your shopping experience, the Swan Walk shop units will be re-designed and developed to fully integrate within the existing shopping centre, adding approximately 90,000 sq ft to the centre’s overall size. 

Swan Walk is set to become an exciting new fashion hub, with seven stores adding to the already fantastic offer at The Liberty. There are a number of high profile fashion retailers who are now expressing interest in taking space within the centre and the new units will help accommodate this demand.  

The team at The Liberty are extremely excited to be extending the retail offer and look forward to welcoming new top names to Romford. Keep coming back for updates and further announcements.
