Design Title: Woman of Distinction
How do you feel about being a finalist in the 2016 Fashion Design Competition? I feel so happy and privileged to be a part of this competition. To be a finalist – I still can’t believe it, I was jumping around in my front room when I got the email.
What does ‘style’ mean to you?: Style comes from within, having the eye and being creative, walking into a store and knowing what garments suit your body, and how to wear it! Style is about bring out the best in yourself, using your best assets, no matter how much you earn – knowing where to shop for your price range – and what culture you’re from or what age you are. Wearing certain clothes will make you feel elegant, sophisticated, part of a crow, sexy, no matter what. Style CAN always be a very big part in a woman’s life.
Who is your style icon?: I would say Rihanna, she has a style of her own but still taps into up-to-date collections. Very cool lady!
Please summarise the concept behind your design in one sentence: Wooden trellis designs fused with modern architecture in a 50s silhouette.
