The Liberty Shopping Centre hosted a star-studded few days on Friday 24th and Saturday 25th February, as two of the UK’s TV favourite celebrities signed copies of their latest books at WH Smith, in the centre’s Liberty Square.
The shopping centre welcomed dancing queen, Ola Jordan and yummy mummy vlogger and TV personality, Giovanna Fletcher, over an exciting 48-hour period.
Fans queued to meet Strictly Come Dancing professional, Ola, as she signed copies of her new autobiography Strictly Ola, My Story, which reveals Ola’s inspirational story of how she took the dance floor by storm and against the odds.
Ola commented: “It feels amazing to be here. I’ve visited Essex before but this is my first time here at The Liberty and my first ever trip to Romford!
“It’s hard to sum up my whole life in one sentence, and that’s what my book is, it’s my whole life. It’s me and my story right from the start until now.”
First in the queue to meet Ola Jordan were Nicola and Chloe Martin. Chloe commented: “Me and mum came here today to meet Ola. I’m a really big fan and I’ve been Watching strictly since I was five. I was a little nervous about meeting her because she is the first big star I’ve ever met, but she was really friendly.
On Saturday 25th February, fans also flocked to the centre to meet TV personality, vlogger and author Giovanna Fletcher, who also signed copies of her new book Happy Mum, Happy Baby. The book addresses all things mum related, as well as giving readers an insight into married life with Tom Fletcher from boy band, McFly, and their sons Buzz and Buddy.
Giovanna Fletcher commented: “It feels lovely to be here today as I’m a local girl. I used to be here every Saturday, visiting the market and The Liberty because I’m a massive fan of shopping. I’m definitely no stranger to the area and it’s great to be back.”
First in the queue to meet Giovanna Fletcher was Nichole Hawkins and her son Jacoby. Nichole commented: “Jacoby and I were the first in the queue as I have been a fan since what must be forever, I have bought all of Giovanna’s books.
“I was a bit nervous to meet her at first but there was no need to be, she was lovely – just how I expected her to be. Me and Jacoby had a great time.”
Jonathan Poole, Centre Manager at The Liberty Shopping Centre said: “We were honoured to welcome both Ola and Giovanna during our star-studded weekend.
“The ladies certainly created a buzz around the centre during their signings and we wish them the best of luck with the launch of their books.”
Andy Sweatman, WHSmith Store Manager, commented: “It was great to have both Ola and Giovanna with us. Both authors have huge fan bases in the area and their books are already flying off the shelves!”
