Standout Socks Sported at The Liberty

On Thursday 10th October, local shoppers and staff members from The Liberty Shopping Centre rocked their most fun pair of socks for Mental Health Awareness Day.

‘Socktober’ was set up by Francesca Donovan, Centre Manager at Westwood Cross Shopping Centre in Broadstairs, Kent, in order to spread the message that there is always somebody to talk to on Mental Health Awareness Day as well as every other day of the year.

During the day, staff from The Liberty sported their loudest socks and shared ‘sock selfies’ to The Liberty’s social media channels to show their support and to raise awareness of the international day.

Centre Manager, Jonathan Poole, said: “Thank you to everyone who got involved with ‘Socktober’ at The Liberty.

“1 in 4 people struggle with mental health which is why we wanted to get involved in this great initiative.

“Socktober is a great way of raising awareness of mental health as well as spreading the message that it is ok not to be ok and there is always somebody to talk to.”
