STYLE WEEK AT THE LIBERTY WITH HAVERING COLLEGE FASHIONISTAS

The Liberty Shopping Centre Style week event was given a helping hand of young expertise, inspiration and enthusiasm when students from Havering College fashion department spent the day at the event providing their knowledge and assistance.

The event offered expert advice from style consultants who held 4 different Styling shows throughout the day as well as fashion shows. Retailers showcased their new collections on mannequins, and shoppers were also treated to exclusive discounts and promotions.

The College fashionista's graced the red carpet at 7 mini fashion shows around the centre displaying confidence and flair, whilst other students provided styling support to retailers by selecting garments to showcase their ranges on mannequins in the main square and the remainder of the college team assisted the professional stylists.

David Collins, General Manager of The Liberty commented "We were delighted to provide the students with an opportunity to gain hands on experience in a retail environment, at a real fashion event, where they could develop their knowledge and skills in their chosen field of study".

Fashion and clothing students Jade Kang and Laura Worley aged 17 commented "We were part of the styling team and enjoyed having the chance to be creative, we thrived at the challenge as it was such a good experience working for national and independent retailers such as Primark, La Senza and RM1, we felt really proud of our work and the responsibility that we were given, we even took photos of our displays.
