RIVER ISLAND GIVES THE LIBERTY EVEN MORE TO SING ABOUT

The Liberty welcomed River Island to the shopping centre on Saturday 17th October. The store was opened by The Worshipful, The Mayor of Havering, Councillor Roger Ramsey, General Manager of The Liberty David Collins and River Island store manager, Amanda O'Donaghue.

Speeches were made by The Mayor and David Collins, plus a red ribbon cutting to officially open the store, whilst customers indulged in drinks and nibbles. Shoppers were then treated to a red carpet fashion show, showcasing the River Island Autumn/ Winter 09 collection and introduced the River Island sales team as they modeled alongside The Liberty Top model winners, to the voices of Opera singers Franz Foley and Jack Hepburn from the reality TV show Operatunity.

River Island fans Kelly Patten from Harold Wood and Mum Paula Greaves from Dagenham were the first shoppers at the new River Island store and commented ‘we are already shoppers at The Liberty, but now we have another reason to come to the centre, we especially love their accessories'.

The River Island store is the first tenant for the Swan walk development which will become home to even more aspirational retailers in the future.
