Let’s start with a simple question: what, exactly, are accessories?
Accessories are anything that is worn except the outfit itself: Glasses, jewellery, belts, scarves, handbags, tights hats, shoes and also hair, make up and nails. These 'extra' bits convey a subtle but important message about your personality and lifestyle.
By adding appropriate accessories, you can:
1) Attract attention to your assets
Have great legs? A short skirt and eye-catching shoes will show them off to a great advantage.
Beautiful face? Want others to keep their attention on your face and away from the extra pads on your hips, for example? Then wear interesting necklaces, scarves, earrings and make-up to create excitement around the face.

Add a scarf, high heels, and a great bag and your weekend casual becomes business casual instead.
General rules for Accessories
Ø Put together an ornate dress with plain accessories and a plain dress with ornate accessories.
Ø Scale accessories in proportion to the size of your body or body parts (like head, hands, or feet).
• If you’re small, wear small accessories. Large pieces will make what’s around them look smaller.
• If you’re large, wear large accessories. Small pieces will make what’s around them look bigger.
• If you’re medium size, wear medium-size accessories. Small pieces will make you look bigger, big pieces will make you look smaller.
Ø Create One Focal Point per Outfit: When accessorising, your goal is to have one focal point that instantly draws people’s attention. For many women, either they have no focal point, or they have too many focal points.
