1. Wear comfy shoes
You’re going to be on your feet all day and will need to be agile if you’re going to bag that last sequined dress in your size! Comfy shoes are key but can also be stylish – check out Foot Locker’s range of women’s trainers like these sleek Nike Roshe One shoes (£69.99).
2. Go Early
First thing in the morning is the perfect time to beat the queues and crowds. Make sure you get a good night’s rest the night before, don’t skip breakfast and be sure to grab a winter warmer like a festive Red Cup from Starbucks (from £2.80) to keep you fully refuelled.
3. Get Organised
It’s a good idea to make a list and check it twice! Write down everyone you plan to buy a gift for, no matter how small the gift may be, along with the maximum amount you’re willing to spend. This will help you to cut down on those impulse buys! This Gabriella Stationary Accessories Set (£5) from Primark is your perfect partner.
4. Bring a tote
Since the bag levy was introduced this year, retailers will be charging at least 5p per plastic bag so don’t forget to bring along a few tote bags to help save the environment and your Christmas budget like this Mistletoe Shopper Bag (£1.99) from New Look. Take a few plastic bags to the Customer Service desk at The Liberty to exchange for a Liberty branded tote bag, until stocks last.
5. Take a break
Think of Christmas shopping as an extreme sport – like an athlete you need to stay hydrated to reach optimal levels of performance! Have a bottle of water at the ready in your handbag and make sure you have a lunch-break after quick-footing it around the shops and balancing all those bags. Mission accomplished? Maybe enjoy a well-deserved meal and toast your success!
