As we are instructed to stay home to control the outbreak of COVID-19, a great number of us will be super busy working from home, whilst some of us will feel at a bit of a loss, twiddling our thumbs wondering how to fill our time.
At The Liberty we are here to ensure that you can appreciate the time that you will be spending in the comfort of your own home. With your safety being our number one priority many of our shops are now closed, but if you need to do some essential shopping Boots Pharmacy, Superdrug, Holland & Barrett, M&S Foodhall, TSB and Iora Dental Health remain open (opening times vary).
We send our best wishes to all out customers and advise you to follow the government guidelines.
Home Working Warrior (Keep Up To Speed)
Don’t let your new way of working consume you. Although it can be deemed as a luxury, working from home can in fact be very challenging, with many distractions, from kids, to TV, doing the washing, or alternatively, not managing your time and over-working. To get a work life balance in the home, check out The Liberty’s Work from home guide, providing top tips on how to plan your day and balance your time to achieve a happy and productive working day. Visit out Facebook page @LibertyRomford.
Feeling Bored – Be A Hero
‘I’m bored’ is no longer a phrase just for kids. Staying at home can take its toll at times for everyone. Some of us are using the time to relax, whilst others are using the time to finally catch up on household chores, DIY tasks or that book you’ve been promising to take time and treat yourself to a well deserved break. But if you do feel like you want to keep busy, then bring out your inner hero and try volunteering, there are a number of organisations that need help and support for vulnerable people, whether its talking on the phone to someone who is lonely or bringing cheer to an older person, you are bound to feel a real sense of achievement. Havering Volunteer Centre is co-ordinating all of the volunteers and requests for support in the borough, working tirelessly to match volunteers with suitable roles to help the most vulnerable residents in our community.
Keep the kids entertained
With Children now at home for the foreseeable future it’s important for them (and important for you) that they are entertained and keep busy. ‘Never Fear, Tiana is here’. The Liberty Kids Corner held on The Liberty Facebook page is hosted by Romford girl, Tiana age 6 and a half, bringing you regular activities, from storytelling, arts & craft, top tips, fitness and baking.
