A week of fashion fun at The Liberty
It was catwalk crazy at The Liberty shopping centre during the May half-term, with fashion focused activities and workshops keeping everyone entertained and on trend, just in time for summer.
From Monday 27th to Thursday 30th May, amongst other activities, local children were challenged to show off their eye for fashion by designing and drawing their perfect summer outfit for the chance to win a £50 Liberty Gift Card.
On the Friday of half-term (31st May) the centre hosted their ‘One Great Day’ charity event, inviting children to take part in confidence building activities, including a charity catwalk parade. The event raised a grand total of £404, which is to be split between Great Ormond Street Children’s Hospital and the centre’s charity of the year, Cancer Research UK.
A weekend of fashion shows closed the week’s events. A number of the Liberty’s 100+ stores took part in a series of runway performances, displaying this season’s hot trends and providing the audience with top industry tips. All items showcased were clearly marked in store, along with a number of discounts, leaving shoppers with plenty of summer savings.
The Liberty Shopping Centre Manager, Jonathan Poole, said: “We had a fantastic week at The Liberty, full of fashion fun for the whole family to enjoy.
“We raised a great amount of money for two brilliant charities, Cancer Research UK and Great Ormond Street Children’s Hospital, the amount raised will really help those who need it. So thank you to all who donated”.
